WooKids is a directory of places and things to do with children in and around Worcester. You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email address or anything else about you.

What we collect

Nothing about you as a visitor. There is no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. The only exception is the form for sending us a listing, described below.

If you send us a listing

The "Add your event" form asks for your name or organisation and an email address, plus the details of what you are adding and, if you choose, a picture. We use your email only to reply to you about that submission; we never publish it or share it. We keep the submission so we can check it and, if we use it, to show where the information came from. Ask us to delete it at any time. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from robots, which means your browser talks to Cloudflare when you open the form.

Saved on this device

When you tap the heart on something, we store its number in a small cookie called wookids_saved in your browser. It lasts a year (and the year restarts each time you save or remove something). It is only used to show you your Saved list, and it is sent to our server only so that the Saved page can show those items. It never leaves your device for any other purpose. Remove an item with its heart, or clear the cookie in your browser settings, to forget it. Because you asked for this feature, the cookie doesn't need a consent banner.

Searching by postcode

If you search near a postcode, it is sent to postcodes.io, a free open service, to find where it is. We don't store it or link it to you.

Maps and photos from other services

Maps are drawn with map tiles from OpenFreeMap (built on OpenStreetMap data), and many place photos come from Wikimedia Commons. Your browser fetches these straight from those services, so, as with any website, they can see your internet address and browser details. Our fonts are served from our own site, not from Google.

Where the site runs

The site and its database run on Microsoft Azure in the UK. Like any web host, it keeps routine technical logs (such as which pages were requested) for up to 30 days to keep the site running and secure.

Listings

Listings are facts about events and places (dates, times, prices, venues) with a link back to where the information came from. If you run an event or venue and want a listing changed or removed, please let us know.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal information about visitors, there is very little to access or delete. If you have a concern, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
